Minister of Health and Human Servcies HE. Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, has opened a three-days meeting in Nairobi. The meeting is a call for action to address the second type of polio outbreak in Somalia. The Minister signed the Declaration on behalf of the Somali Health Stakeholders in the presence of @WHO, @UNICEF, @BMGF, @CDC.
Minister Fawzia said: “With a severe drought situation across the country and the recovery from COVID-19 infection, the country’s health stakeholders should not forget how important it is to control the ongoing polio epidemic. “It does not affect the lives of many Somali children.”
The Minister Fawzia also added, “On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our partners, and donors, for their tireless efforts to protect millions of Somali children from polio in recent years.” ”
